A New York Times report indicates that Facebook is hoping to unleash a movable in 2013, citing Facebook workers and folks near the organization.The news isn't particularly new, and rumours of the corporate partnering with HTC (and different manufacturers) to create a Facebook phone are around for nearly 2 years;
but, the newest report comes within the light-weight of Facebook hiring many Apple engineers, who’ve had expertise developing the iPhone and iPad.
Also terribly relevant, is that Facebook’s biggest competitor, Google, that already has its fingers within the smartphone pie, only recently completed its acquisition of Motorola Mobility. Google may all right set out with its own mobile and pill devices by the tip of the year.Industry analysts are sceptical regarding Facebook’s ability to develop a successful mobile device, with several software and hardware giants finding the mobile market a particularly tough one to enter – like Dell and HP.
Some pundits suggest that Facebook acquires a mobile manufacturer, like RIM or HTC, rather than attempting to develop a tool itself.A software company, Facebook reportedly conjointly includes a smartphone OS prepared to be used already, with the event of an actual mobile device the most important obstacle remaining. A forked version of the Android OS, like that on the Kindle fireplace, may even be a clear stage.
When asked regarding these latest reports, Facebook didn't make sure its plans – it instead gave an ambiguous statement, a repeat of its previous stance: “We’re operating across the whole mobile industry; with operators, hardware makers, OS suppliers, and application developers.”Of course, firms like INQ and HTC have already developed their own Facebook phones (such because the INQ Cloud bit, INQ Cloud Q, HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa), with native Facebook integration, and dedicated access buttons.
